I&RS (Intervention and Referral Services)
The Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) committee at Point Road School is a state mandated multi-disciplinary team which designs, implements, and monitors intervention plans for students experiencing difficulties with learning, behavior, and/or health. The Point Road School I&RS committee is made up of the following individuals: Building Principal: Pamela Albert Devine, I&RS Coordinator and School Counselor: Julie Ford, Tier 3 Interventionist: Laura DiPietro, Regular Education Teacher: Jen Egidio, and Special Education Teacher: Tara Dunne. Members of the Child Study Team and the School Nurse, also serve as consultants to the team. The I&RS committee meets once per month as a full team or can meet throughout the month with at least two members present. The committee members or consultants present at a meeting will vary depending on the needs of the student. However, the classroom teacher, the Tier 2 Interventionist (when appropriate), and parent will always be at the meeting. Prior to the parent meeting there is typically a committee meeting only involving the classroom teacher and Tier 2 Interventionist (when appropriate).
