Point Pals
Point Pals is a voluntary, social skills group, that is offered to children that have been identified as needing help with social skills. The Point Pals Curriculum combines the Zones of Regulation and the Superflex Social Thinking Curriculum. Students are first recommended by classroom teachers through a skill assessment survey. Additional positive peer models are recommended by the classroom teachers to provide students the opportunity to practice skills with their peers.
The group offers a safe environment for children to
1. Learn socially appropriate skills to navigate the world
2. Develop skills to recognize and cope with difficult emotions
3. Practice skills in a safe place
4. Become more flexible in their thinking
5. Make new friends
The groups will meet for 6 week increments. After 6 weeks the groups we will be reset based on students who would continue to benefit from additional support and new peer models.
